Water supply and wastewater treatment utilities have major responsibilities in meeting their quality goals — the health of a nation depends on them. But in delivering their services, these same utilities use chemicals and fuels that often subject them to increased scrutiny by the EPA, OSHA and state environmental agencies.
ERL has assisted many with their compliance obligations regarding a host of issues from hazard assessment to self-audit procedures to operator training. We have helped a number of water and wastewater clients prepare for the public scrutiny that the Risk Management Program required and are gearing up for the next wave of stormwater regulations that will affect MS4 facilities nationwide. Because of the depth of knowledge and experience of ERL staff, we have been able to offer a comprehensive level of support to this group of clients.
Our aquatic toxicity laboratory has performed tests on effluent samples from hundreds of POTWs in accordance with the terms of their various wastewater discharge permits. From routine to specialized testing protocols, our laboratory is widely known and well regarded by state environmental regulatory agencies and the U.S. EPA.
